Zina is very powerful and correct.  Her striking dark palomino color really catches your eye. She has a prominent mischievous streak which she displays at every opportunity. We are very proud of this beautiful animal. We are looking forward to adding more of Zina's daughters to our herd. Zina is getting a bit long in the tooth for the show ring but she loves it so that we take her to fairs where she reigns as queen and bums cookies from anyone who will feed them to her. Zina is a properly spoiled and well loved matriarch who continues to more than pay her way with beautiful offspring and her calming influence. Zina didn't kid for us last spring but we are hoping that she will again present us with some beautiful offspring this year.

2008 Update: Zina kidded with a gorgeous white buckling.

SGCH Reuel Mei Tu's JJ Miriam 2*M 3/18/02

Miriam is a long doe with a very nicely attached and shaped udder and correct leg set. She is very smooth and milking nicely. Her udder is EXCEPTIONAL. It is high and tight with a beautiful medial and great capacity. We are delighted with her! She placed 12th at the National show in Spokane . She ranked #3 on the Nubian Top Ten List in 2005 for her 152 pounds of Butterfat. She continues to milk and show well. Miriam is living proof that show does can and do milk too. We are very proud of her and pleased that her appraisal scores reflect her true worth. We expect that she will continue to only improve with age. She had one Best of Breed this show season.

2008 Update: Miriam freshened on May 25 with a doe and a buck. She was enormous before she freshened and we were expecting more than twins from her. She is very slowly milking off some of her extra pounds and all was forgiven when one of her kids was a doe. Miriam has a long way to go before she is down to her proper weight but she is getting better every day and her milk production is slowly climbing.

Ruthie his matured into a very nice and correct doe. Like her mother Rufus she was slow maturing. She is incredibly tall and graceful. She has gained great depth of body as well. We are delighted with her.  Ruth was 17th in her class at Nationals in Spokane and continues to improve with age. She is quiet and very easy going.

2008 Update:  Ruthie delivered her kids at 10:30 on April 8th. She needed a bit of help as one was trying to come with one front leg out straight and the other bent at the knee and across the straight one. Just took a bit of rearranging and a few good hard pushes and out he came. A nice 7.7 pound buck, red and white and very Expressway in appearance, then a mess that was a tiny (2 pound) girl that had died about 3 weeks ago...followed by a very stressed boy (7.5 pounds) covered with orange goo and meconium... Took forever to get him dry and I had to comb his long hair to get it to fluff up. He struggled a bit but they both downed 4-5 oz of colostrum and were tucked into the kid tipi for the night.

Reuel Rufus' Royal Rhesa 2*M 4/4/03

Rhesa is a striking, long, level doe with a delightful personality. She has a lovely udder and is milking very well. She spent this year filling out nicely and and we finally managed to keep a little weight on her.  She has a large frame and a very long bone pattern. She showed very well for us and placed:3X first 1X second and 1X third. With one BOB, one GCH and 2 Reserve Grands as well as one first place udder Rhesa was 10th in her class at the Spokane Nationals.

Rhesa has 2 grand champion legs.

2008 Update: On the afternoon of March 18 Rhesa waited until I went to the barn to feed the kids their noon meal before she started her serious labor. She really needed help as her kids were not interested in leaving their warm and wet environment for the cold world. Rhesa is an extraordinarily large deep and level doe who has lots of room to work inside her and it is a good thing as her twins insisted on lying with their backs down toward the floor and their heads turned back and down over their shoulders. Lots of work later the first was in position to emerge and so she did. She is a beautiful silver and tan doe. He sister followed a bit later after she was repositioned, another very long, and beautiful black doe.

Ziva is a full sister to our lovely SGCH Reuel Zina's JJ Zephyr. Like her sister she is very long bodied and dairy. She is very nicely put together and has a nice udder. We are delighted with her length of body, neck and bone pattern as well as her lovely breed character. We are hoping that she will soon mature into the lovely animal that her heritage promises. She has finally grown into her feet! She is a very large doe who had a single buck kid this year we are hoping that she will have twins or triplets next spring and milk more.

2008 Update:This morning (April 10) Ziva waited patiently for us to finish the morning milking and feeding then lay down and started to push as I checked on her in the kidding stall. Her first kid was in position with head and one leg fully engaged so I helped with a firm pull and a little manipulation and the first kid arrived. Her second kid is a little bigger but was in perfect position so arrived very quickly. Ziva has blessed us with twin GIRLS! They are both beautiful: black with white splashes. We will retain one and the other will be posted on our sale page as soon as I can get some pictures. Mom is doing fine and milked over 3 quarts of very nice thick colostrum.

Samiel’s name means: hot dry wind off the desert and it certainly fits her as she is an exuberant and playful doe. She is very deep bodied and shows great promise. Sammie freshened again with a very nice udder She has done lot of growing and has matured into a beautiful deep and productive doe that is a real credit to her dam. We are very pleased with her development and are looking forward to seeing what the next few years bring! Sammie showed very well for us this year with 2X first, 3X second and 2X GCH. She is getting better as she gets more mature and we expect a lot from her in the coming show season.

2008 Update: Well Samiel did it. She was a good girl and waited until after we had our Sunday dinner then stood around looking anxious until we went out to check her. She immediately turned around and stuck her head in the corner and pushed out 2 feet. I helped straighten the legs for her and then stretched her around an enormous buck head while she pushed for all she was worth.  I checked as she was licking her boy and found two slightly smaller feet and as I pulled my hand out she pushed the kid out really fast. I had to hold it back so I could clean off its face and then I caught it as she gave a final push... Another buck!  Both are beautiful.  Both are very long bodied tall dairy and level.  The red buck weighed in at 9.9 pounds and the black boy at 8.5 pounds. They are pictured on our sale page and we are offering them both for sale.

Chinook is a product of a ½ brother ½ sister breeding. We don’t do these breedings very often but wanted to see how the resulting kid would turn out and we were delightfully surprised. Chinook is a basic brown doe with exceptionally nice breed character. She shows great promise and is growing well. She is quite eye catching even in her plain brown wrapper.

Reuel Zizah’s JJ Kai 11*M 3/29/05

Kai freshened last spring with a spectacular udder and we were thrilled at her prospects for the show season. We took her to her first show as a milker and in her first ring she finished dead last. She was so timid that she tried to hide as she was shown. In the second ring relaxed a bit and managed to move up from 11th to third. As the season went on she not only grew in stature and maturity she really began to enjoy the show ring and gained confidence and showed well. Her record was 1X first, 1X second and 2X 3rd. She is a very laid back doe that has the very annoying habit of falling asleep while standing up. We are looking forward to having her freshen for us again this spring. She appraised very well and we expect her to continue to do well.

2008 Update: Kai kidded on April 29 with two bucks and one doe. She did a great job and with a little help got those babies out and she gave us a very nice bucket full of rich colustrum. Kai has come into milk very quickly and on her first test at 3 weeks fresh she milked 12 pounds. We are looking forward to seeing how this doe continues to work and her daughter is growing fast and will be staying here.

Zadee's name means princess and she very definitely thinks that she is a princess. Her arrival was eagerly anticipated as she is a full sister to our beautiful Zephyr. She seems to be following in her sister's foot steps as she is long and level and has beautiful breed character. Her udder is nicely shaped and firmly attached with nice teats and she milks well. We are expecting that she will freshen again in the spring with her beautiful udder growing in proportion to her body. She is a powerful and stunning doe that shows great promise.  Zadee was 2X 1st, once 2nd, and once 3rd in the ring last year.

2008 Update: Zadee had a hard time getting her buckling into position and needed help to deliver her 8.5 pound buckling on March 14th. Mom is doing well although she is still a bit sore.

Reuel Lacie’s EXP Tapestry 2/13/06

Tapestry arrived amid great joy and great sadness. She was the first of our Expressway daughters and her arrival was much anticipated. She didn’t disappoint us at all.  However, her mother was carrying quads and an additional very large bag of fluid and struggled mightily before surrendering to ketosis. Tapestry was the first kid of the year and spent three weeks as a house goat running around in newborn Pampers. She is a beautiful legacy from her mom. She is very long, level and smooth with great breed character. Tappy was promised to a young man as his 4-H project but as the time approached for her departure the family had second thoughts so she stayed in our herd. We showed her twice and she placed 4th and 1st. She is a very correct doe and we appreciate her style and her playful attitude.

2008 Update: Tappy delivered 2 bucks and a doe for us on April 29. We were delighted to see the doe and have kept her for ourselves. Tappy had no trouble and hasn't looked back since her delivery. She is milking well and maturing nicely.

She has certainly grown in the last few months putting on height and depth of body. Her udder is well attached and is very promising. Another freshening should make a huge difference in this nice youngster.

Raya is another of our very correct Jesse James daughters. We are thrilled to see her growing up. She is very well grown for her age and Freshened with an absolutely beautiful udder. She is long, dairy and very smooth. She is a quietly elegant young doe that enjoys the ring and the attention she receives. She was 3X first and 2X second this year with 3X first udder. We are really looking forward to seeing her mature.

2008 Update:  Raya spent the night in the kidding stall and was so open that we were sure her babies would fall out if she sneezed. She was unconcerned and calm continuing to eat and drink normally. On the morning of the 18th while we were sipping coffee and prior to morning chores, Raya started serious pushing and we dressed and went out to help her. Her first baby was reluctant to emerge and needed assistance but she quickly slid into the world followed quickly by her bigger brother. After getting the kids faces cleaned off I checked the doe and was surprised to fine another kid all lined up and ready to emerge. We were delighted to find another beautiful doe! Mom is developing into the mature doe that we expected her to be. Her udder is beautiful and she is growing in depth of body to go with her extraordinary length. When Rhesa delivered her kids this spring it was a very busy day around here with several does in active labor at the same time. We quickly dried the kids, put their ID collars on them, weighed them and got them fed. Jael was a basic brown kid with white ears and facial stripes and didn't appear to be remarkable in any way. As she grew and developed we soon noticed that she is exceptionally long and level as is her mom. We brought her out for Young Stock Appraisal and were very happy to see how she had grown. Jael went to two fairs this fall where she placed first and then third. She is impressively long and smooth and despite her annoyingly short ears we expect that she will grow into a very nice doe and make a wonderful Produce of Dam with her full sister Raya.

2008 Update: Jael freshened May 7 with a buck and a doe after waiting for us to arrive to share the moment. The boy was 7.2 pounds and his sister 6.0 pounds. She did a great job and is now milking very nicely with her first test, at 2 weeks fresh, a very respectable 5.9 pounds of 4.6% butterfat milk.
She will remain in the herd and hopefully grow up into a beautiful mature doe.

She continues to grow and looks better every day. We are excited about her prospects.

2008 Update: Viv held out for awhile on us and finally delivered a single buck kid on May 12. She was very considerate and waited until we were finished milking before getting serious. Sukey is a sweet doe who is very easy to be around. She is friendly but not demanding and is very quiet. She was only shown once this year and placed 4th in a class of 8. We are looking forward to seeing her as a yearling milker and expect that she will do very well as both her mother and grandmother have done.

2008 Update:  Sukey was the first of our yearlings to freshen this year and she did so in a very endearing fashion. She quietly and efficiently delivered twin doelings and was properly praised. One was a nice 7.4 pounds and wildly splashed the other a tiny 4.5 pounds and basically brown. Well Tiny was feisty and soon determined that her sister was taking much too much time on the bottle when she was hungry and promptly knocked her over and took over the bottle. She is happily being spoiled by Ben Heino and his sister Reba in CA. Her sister Lucy will remain here as she has the cute factor down pat and has endeared herself to us.
