Rosette arrived in the spring of 09, much to the delight of our friend Robin who comes almost every spring to help deliver babies. Rosette immediately bonded with Robin and was properly spoiled. She grew nicely and seems the enjoy the show scene and all the extra attention that it brings to her. She has great depth of body and spring of rib. Rosette is showing the promise that has been the norm with all of our Masterpiece babies. She has spent the summer grazing prime pasture with the rest of our dry yearlings and Miriam (who  needed to loose a lot of weight). Rosette was clipped in preparation for Linear Appraisal and having her picture taken. We were pleased to see the doe that emerged from the hair

She will be bred to  Micah for February babies.

Brisa arrived with her siblings in the evening and they were quickly cared for and tucked in for the night. Samiel had a tough birth with some sorting needed to get the triplets born. Brisa is a bit different than her brother and sister in body style but has a very wide open escutcheon and excellent spring of rib. She spent the last year growing and filling out nicely We are looking forward to seeing her fresh.

Zahavah and her sister arrived at 6:45AM without fanfare or problems. Both kids were vigorous and hungry from birth.  Zahavah grew fast  and had a hard time figuring out what to do with her feet, back, and long legs. She shows great promise and we are confident that she will develop into a more dairy copy of her mother.   She has good width and levelness in the rump. Her first trip to the show ring as a dry yearling earned her a Grand Champion Rosette and her Dry leg so she will hang out in the pasture until the fairs come around. She is really growing up very nicely.

 She will be bred to Sirocco for March babies. 

Nika is a striking blue roan doe who stands out in the crowd.  She has a beautiful level and strong top line.  we feel that she is going to be a nice doe and we are looking forward to watching her mature. She has a beautiful ring presence and seems to enjoy showing and all the attention she can get. Evidently she caught the eye of the judge as her first venture into the ring as a dry yearling brought her a Junior Champion Rosette and her Dry leg. We are looking forward to great things from Nika as she freshens.

We were eagerly awaiting our first doe kid from Connor when Kira arrived.  It was a pleasant  surprise when we fished out this beautiful, long bodied, and flashy kid and it was a girl! Her color was quite a surprise as both her sire and dam are black! It comes from her great grandma Zina.   She has beautiful breed character and is very long and graceful.  Apparently she caught the judges eyes as well as she did great in the ring and she has her dry leg.

 Kira will be bred to Sirocco November. 

Corie arrived, after making us wait for what seemed like forever as her mom always goes to 155 days. She started our kicked off "the year of the quadruplets" as she was one of quads that included 3 does and one buck.

She is quiet and growing into a very nice kid. While we sold her mother we are sure she will be a nice addition to the herd. She arrived with a bold and inquisitive look and is growing nicely.

 Corie will be bred to Connor for March babies. 

Jetta arrived as the second in a set of twins. I was so excited to get a solid jet black doeling!  Not a white hair on her. She is long and dairy and really has "The Look" and attitude that should make her stand out in a crowd.  We clipped her in preparation for her first show only to discover that she isn't jet black at all but has gold roaning all through her coat... She is  quite lovely and promising and has much longer ears than he mom.  We are excited to see how she matures over the next few years.

We Liked this kid from the start but, since her mom was a first freshener and we wanted to keep kids from our older does, she was offered for sale.

We watched her mom develop over the course of a couple of months and finally decided that we really liked both Naphtali and her mom so she was added to the keeper pen. She has continued to grow and looks very promising.

 Naphtali will be bred to Sirocco for April babies 

Vashti arrived in another of our sets of quads and immediately stood out in the crowd. She is bold and quite colorful. She is one of the first kids to try cookies and grain and doesn't seem to be daunted by much of anything. She has resumed growing nicely and should be a large mature doe.

Peni arrived along with 2 sisters and a brother in the midst of a wild kidding week. We were about buried in beautiful kids who insisted in arriving in groups of three and four.  After we finally surfaced for air and got a full night's sleep we got a chance to look over the doelings more closely. Peni immediately stood out and was quickly marked as a "Keeper". She shows good width throughout and a lovely rounded and very high eschuction.

Reuel Rama's WC Fool's Gold      4/1/10

Goldie arrived bright and early in the morning with no fanfare and two black brothers! She showed great width and strength from birth and looks like she will be an awesome doe. She has great width in the escutcheon and good strength over the topline.

 Goldie is scheduled to be bred to Micah in December, one doeling will be retained. 

Zorie, her sister and two brothers brought our total of sets of quads to 6 for the year and she made quite a splash as a golden palomino among the 3 dark red siblings. She continues to enjoy the status of favored one as she has had an extra month on the lambar keeping our last kid of the year company. She is very wide and level through out. She will certainly loose some of her baby fat as she transitions to the big pen and begins to romp with her older sisters. She looks like she will follow in her mother and sister's footsteps and develop into a strong and productive milker.

 Zorie will be bred to Sirocco for May Babies, one doeling will be retained.

Rida is a strong, wide, and determined little girl. She manages to get her share of cookies and has been known to steal them from the mouths of her more tentative pen mates. She gets her share at feeding time and is growing nicely

Tobi arrived surrounded by her three brothers as Raya presented us with our 5th set of quadruplets for the year. All were strong and healthy kids and Tobi quickly became a  resident of our "keeper" pen.  We are expecting her to continue to grow and she will probably be a late bloomer as her sister Belicia has proven to be.  She shows great potential with nicely angulated rear legs, a wide open escutcheon and a nice flat rump.

Rhesa presented us with a beautiful set of Quads this year and at first we were offering Roshan for sale but upon reflection and the realization that Rhesa is now 7 years old and that we may not have a lot more doe kids from her, we decided to keep these two lovely kids. They have beautiful breed character and show Rhesa's trademark flat wide rump.  We are looking forward to seeing them freshen and mature.  They both are quiet and gentle kids who are already cookie hounds.
